What to Expect

Pinot Noir: Responsible for some of the greatest wines on earth - the exhausted red wines of France's Burgundy region. Pinot Noir is a notoriously fickle grape that expresses its origins like no other. It's a vine that needs to struggle to produce great wines but when it does the depth of flavors that range from cherry to cola can be explosive and the wines' bright acidity and gentle tannins make them approachable and widely appealing,

Winemakers Notes

Rich and dense the complexity of the flavors plays out progressively beginning with blackberry and plum and finishing with toasty cedar aromas. Tannins are ripe juicy and delicate. Enjoy with roasted chicken blackened salmon or semi-soft and herbed cheeses.

Reviews

Ok, take this for what it's worth. Tonight I had a wine tasting at my house. The theme was predominately red wines. The first three wines were Pinot Noir. I am new at wine taste reviews but I'll give it a shot.

The three Pinot Noir wines were Mirassou, Castle Rock and Fat Bastard. While all three were enjoyed, Fat Bastard fared the best among the three. It just seemed to be balanced more so than the others.

The finish held on longer and didn't start off aggressive as the other two. Black cherry and strawberry with a touch of vanilla come to mind first on the nose. On read more...

Wine Tasting NotesRuby red color, bright and crisp Intense crushed strawberries with a hint of rose petals Lively and elegant with ripe red fruits and a hint of floral notes. Soft, smooth tannins and rich flavors of strawberries, raspberries, finishing with cherry notes. A delicious wine that marries extremely well with white meats such as chicken, veal, pork and fresh salads. The soft tannins make tuna, swordfish and sushi great complements - Fat bastard Pinot Noir is the quintessential "crossover" wine!
