Farnum Hill Semi-Dry Cider NV

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Semi-Dry CiderSweet, candied green apple notes on the nose are joined by hints of papaya and ginger. This really is semi-dry with enough sugar to add just a touch of flesh to the palate and help balance the bright acids. This is all about fresh, crisp apple fruit with a nice creamy texture and a bright almost citrussy finale.

Peculiar-tasting when fresh, cider apples produce gorgeous aromas, flavors and sensations after pressing, fermenting, and blending by the respectful cidermaker. Farnum Hill Ciders are dry complex, and wine-like but, at 6.5-8.5%, they are less alcoholic than grape wines. Read less

Tropical aroma, with strong papaya and coconut mouth, with dry hay and pear. I like the level of sweetness and acidity in this.

Metallic light applesauce nose. Stale brown applesauce flavor. Flat, bitter with a tannic acidic finish. Feh.

Rich sweet nose with sweet aromas of baked red apples. Citrus finish with golden delicious flavors.

A nice crisp, fresh cider with hints of pineapple. The finish was somewhat bitter and soapy, but its still a nice summer drink.

Heavy pear and lemon flavors. Although not a huge cider fan, I really enjoyed a glass.

Has the flavor of apple juice, but without the excessive sweetness. Overall, however, the flavor was flat and not particularly interesting. It feels a little weak, even watery perhaps.

Seemed somewhat dull and not particularly interesting. Reminiscent of apple juice but without the candy-like sweetness. Maybe it would taste better warm?
