As Fanucchi touts this is the white wine that converts "Red-only" folks. It is full bodied but refreshing, aromatic, crisp an clean. Peach is my first impression but it is more complex than that without being heavy.Gris It gets it's character from the grapes because there is none of that heavy disgusting butter & vanilla that messes up so many white wines. It 's far better than those much more expensive Pinot Grigos that often taste like water. This wine holds it's own even when you have been tasting Zinfandel!

The light straw color of this wine may lead you to guess this wine to be thin - WRONG! While it is crisp & refreshing, the mouth is full and the wine is complex. The approach is of a sweet perfume. The taste is of multiple layers; perfectly ripe melon, stone fruit / peach, a bit of tropical fruit & touch of citrus. To top it all off it dose not hit you over the head with a 2 x 4! The '06 Fanucchi Trousseau Gris is a spectacular wine!

Like Viognier or Marsanne with crisp, clean and flowery notes on the nose. Juicy peach, melon and tropical fruit flavors with a touch of spice. Great ballance and acidity makes this wine a delicious comapagion for many seafood, vegi and chicken dishes. http://www.winedinetv.com/videos/item/fanucchi-trousseau-gris

    Winemaker's Notes:

Trousseau Gris (Troo-so-gree) has a crisp, clean, flowery bouquet with flavors of fresh peaches, honeysuckle, pear, melon, delicate spice and tropical fruit flavors which makes it a delightful compliment to a wide array of foods! Compare its “nose” to Viognier or Marsanne, with a gentler spice than a dry Gewürztraminer and far, far, more fruit than the best Pinot Gris could ever hope for! After bottling it can take a few months for this wine to open up, some times not opening up near it’s best till the following fall. In the event you forget a hidden bottle in the back of your cool dark, secret storage place do not fear. You will discover that its natural effervescence will provide a few years of safe aging! https://www.fanucchivineyards.com/trousseau_gris.html Even though it's in a class alone that "professionals" often shy away from it has collected quite a pile of Accolades: Sweepstakes White (AKA Best of ALL white wines in the competition!), Best of Class, and Gold -- North of the Gate Wine Competition 2009 Platinum -2009 Sommelier Challenge International Wine Competition Gold - 2010 Long Beach Grand Cru “91 Points” -Just wine Points / Wine-X Dan Berger included Fanucchi Vineyards Trousseau Gris again "among some of the most exciting wines of the year"!
