Famiglia Bianchi Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
Good saturated medium ruby. Cassis, licorice, menthol, pepper, dark chocolate and minerals on the nose. Dense, spicy and intense, with very good lift to the black fruit, coffee and bitter chocolate flavors. An impression of sweetness is leavened by harmonious acidity. This fine-grained cabernet finishes with ripe, sweet tannins and very good length.Add winemaker's notes
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Shows density and concentration on the nose, with red berry and lemony oak aromas and just a spot of leafiness. Forward in the mouth, with lively acids giving lift to cherry, cassis and peppery flavors. A true, crisp and honest Cab that isn’t too big or complicated.
The 2009 Famiglia Bianchi Cabernet Sauvignon sees ten months aging in French oak of which 33% is new. It has an agreeable nose that takes coaxing from the glass: blackberry, boysenberry, a dash of peppermint and cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet, sappy ripe tannins. There are crisp black cherries and red currant fruit at its core, a taut citric thread of acidity and a well-defined, elegant finish that is pleasingly fleshy and long. This is a well-crafted Cabernet from Mendoza. Drink now–2017.
Ripe and forward, with a solid core of juicy cassis and black plum notes that carry hints of wild herb and tarry mineral through light tannins on the finish. Drink now.
Though I love pretty much the entire Bianchi line, the Famiglia Cabernet is definitely my favorite. Robust and muscular, with just the right amount of herb and coffee notes to add depth. Very complex for the price point. Perfect for any hearty red meat dish.
