User Reviews for Famega Vinho Verde
Add your reviewI think for the price that the wine is, it is very good. It is well balanced in acidity, and has just the right amount of fizz. It is refreshing and has lots of grassy, not-too-sweet fruit notes to it. It's a lot better than any other white wine you can buy for this price.

88pts - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar "...Pale straw. Fresh pear, quince, anise and lime zest on the nose. Nice and refreshing with a little bit of spritz on the tongue. The taste is light with some citrus and melon flavors. Good before-dinner aperitif.
Crisp and refreshing fruit with inviting herbal aromas on the nose and a medium-length, honeyed finish.
A low-alcohol (9.5%), apéritif style of Vinho Verde, which certainly has some sweetness, but which also balances it with plenty of crisp, green fruit flavors.
A good seafood wine. Dry and tart, but carrying enough apple and lemon flavors to make it lively and refreshing.
This is a reserve cuvée from Famega, created for the Premier Group, with markedly more flavor intensity and a slightly fuller texture than typical, while still retaining the freshness and delicate spritz that makes Vinho Verde the perfect summer wine, good for cocktails, great with seafood.

Winemaker's Notes:
This refreshing, crisp and lively has a taste of apple tartness from the cool luscious Vinho Verde DOC region of North Western Portugal. Famega Vinho Verde has a delicate citrus flavor like the fragrance of a summer garden. Pleasant and fresh, this young white wine will be the perfect accompaniment to all kinds of seafood, salads, mild cheeses, as an aperitif, or just by itself.
