This is a great medium-bodied wine with silky tannins and good oak. Aroma has touches of berry and spices. For the price this is delicious!

The climatic and pedologic characteristics of this territory are similar. The hills stretching from Montefi ascone to Orvieto are partly volcanic partly sedimentary in origin and both kinds of soil are particularly suited to the growing of vines as witnessed by the century-old tradition of the zone. In his book The foreign varietals cultivated in Italy S. Mondini affirms that as early as the 19th century several foreign varietals were cultivated in Lazio, some in quite remarkable proportions and specialized in the vineyards... Cabernet, Carignane, Gamay, Grenache, Merlot, Malbeck, Pinot, Sauvignon, Syrah... Lazio generally proves to be an area where the advantages from the cultivation of the foreign varietals are remarkable, especially for what concerns the ones coming from France.. In the countryside surrounding Rome, Frosinone and Viterbo it’s widely held that they contribute to the improvement of the local wine production. Read less
