Editorial Reviews for Falesco Sangiovese Umbria IGT
Tight on the nose with some earthy strawberry fruit and gentle woodsy and smoky top notes. This is really quite smooth on entry, though the minor tannins and integrated acidity help the wine pop on the mid-palate. There fruit shows fine depth, if in a slightly matte style, with a bit of a tea like, extracted feel. A bit rough and rich at the same time. The finish shows good intensity of black cherry skin fruit with decent length. 86pts

The best thing about this is the nose. Amazingly fresh and lively. The rest of this though is a big FAIL. I've seen some of the scores all over the web and it's pretty amazing. everything from 77 to 92. i give it an 83. without the nose it gets an 80. Just not very good or enjoyable. Pair it with not getting it.
This was my first Sangiovese. I am learning to drink reds and trying to learn to review wine in general. This wine had the aroma of blackberry. It was a full bodied red - full of flavor. The after taste had a hint of vanilla and berries. Allowing it to breath mellowed it - and I liked it.

Bright ruby-red in color with expressive aromas of ripe black cherries, strawberries and plums. Excellent balance on the palate, with soft tannins and slightly spicy notes on the finish. Whether paired with your favorite Italian dishes or enjoyed alone by the glass, this Sangiovese is a pure pleasure to drink.
This 100% Sangiovese is intense and bright ruby red in color, with aromas of ripe cherry and strawberry. The excellent balance between fruit and acidity, and the slightly spicy notes on the finish are the unmistakable hallmarks of this wine. The soft and silky tannins frame the pleasant texture of this pure Sangiovese.

Medium red. Vinous nose is redolent of red plum, strawberry and tea. Sexy, captivating flavors of strawberry and red cherry are both sweet and juicy. The smooth finish is only moderately long, but this is very easy to drink.
The 2007 Sangiovese is less convincing in its balance. It, too, is made in a rich, concentrated style, yet some uncharacteristic green notes lurk beneath. Impressive as this wine is for the sheer depth of its fruit, there isnrsquo;t a lot of varietal character here. Anticipated maturity: 2008ndash;2010.
Beautiful aromas of crushed blackberry and flowers follow through to a full-bodied palate, with very well-integrated tannins and a clean aftertaste of vanilla and berry. Amazing quality for the money. Best after 2008.
Winemaker's Notes:
The 2010 Sangiovese shows the darker side of the grape in its intense fruit. This is a fairly bold, concentrated Sangiovese, but all of the elements come together nicely in the glass. It is a great value. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
