The 2004 Marciliano (70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc) is made in a similarly powerful, structured style as the Montiano. Unfortunately it doesnandrsquo;t have that wineandrsquo;s core of fruit and I donandrsquo;t see it ever becoming an especially generous wine. The Cabernet Franc character is also surprisingly absent in this wine. Anticipated maturity: 2009andndash;2016.
A Bordeaux blend in the heart of Italy andmdash; 70% Cabernet Sauvigon and 30% Cabernet Franc, from vineyards throughout Umbria, this wine ranks up there with some of the better Bordeaux chateaux. Huge dark fruit on the nose with pepper and herbs on the palate. Layers of complexity and fruit coat your mouth and the finish continues on well after you swallow. The tannins are sweet and soft, allowing you to open this wine now and save a few bottles for the cellar. This andldquo;Tre Bicchieriandrdquo; winner screams for a steak or venison.
This rich blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with some Cabernet Franc shows an earthy complexity. A recent recipient of Italyandrsquo;s coveted andldquo;Tre Bicchieriandrdquo; award, previous vintages of this wine have scored 94 and 95 points. Enjoy now or buy some to cellar.
Wonderful aromas of blackberries, licorice and berries. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. A bit austere now but should turn around. Cabernet and Cabernet Franc. The sister of Montiano. Best after 2006.
The 2001 Marciliano, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, is dazzlingly good in this exceptionally fine vintage for Italy with its powerful and focused aromas of cassis and blackberries, minerals and Mediterranean herbs, its dense, packed palate of superb structure and balance, and a noble austerity and complexity which should guarantee another 20 years of life.
Falesco Marciliano 2004 and all other wine from Falesco are available for immediate delivery and discounted prices from CheaperCigars.com. We also carry wide variety of wine from Italy and across the globe.
From the many hectars owned by Falesco in the municipality of Montecchio, they have singled out and selected a plot having the ideal characteristics - as to exposure and composition of the soil - for the production of a great unblended Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is a profound Italian Cabernet. Marciliano offers rich flavours of blackberry and cassis, a tobacco-mineral complexity, and a lush, velvety texture that carries through onto the very long finish.
