Falesco Pomele Umbria IGT 2008

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

The first taste of Pomele conjures up images of fresh strawberries kissed with a hint of sweet orange. Made from the unique Aleatico grape, Pomele is slightly sweet but clean and fresh. A variety introduced into Italy from ancient Greek times, Aleatico has successfully found its ideal growing environment in the area surrounding Lake Bolsena near the Falesco estate.

Cabernet, Carignane, Gamay, Grenache, Merlot, Malbeck, Pinot, Sauvignon, Syrah... Lazio generally proves to be an area where the advantages from the cultivation of the foreign varietals are remarkable, especially for what concerns the ones coming from France..
