Falesco Brut Rose NV

Winemaker's Notes:

"Obtained exclusively from Pinot Nero grape, the perlage presents a very thin and continuous grain, a sure sign of quality. The aromas are rich, with hints of rose petals and wild strawberries. The flavours are fresh and substantial, tasty and with an ample and silky finish. Curiosities: among all the red berries varietals, Pinot Noir is considered one of the noblest ones in the world and, at the same time, the most difficult to interpret for both, the winemaker and the consumer. This fine variety is grown at the highest point of the Falesco estate in Montecchio, located at 450 meters above sea level." -Winery

The hills stretching from Montefi ascone to Orvieto are partly volcanic partly sedimentary in origin and both kinds of soil are particularly suited to the growing of vines as witnessed by the century-old tradition of the zone. In his book The foreign varietals cultivated in Italy S. Mondini affirms that as early as the 19th century several foreign varietals were cultivated in Lazio, some in quite remarkable proportions and specialized in the vineyards... Cabernet, Carignane, Gamay, Grenache, Merlot, Malbeck, Pinot, Sauvignon, Syrah... Lazio generally proves to be an area where the advantages from the cultivation of the foreign varietals are remarkable, especially for what concerns the ones coming from France.. In the countryside surrounding Rome, Frosinone and Viterbo it’s widely held that they contribute to the improvement of the local wine production. Read less
