Faiveley Volnay Santenots Premier 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Faiveley 2011 Volnay ''Santenots'' 1er Cru is 100% Pinot Noir hand picked from vines planted in 1967 and aged for 14 to 16 months in lightly toasted oak barrels (one third new) in nineteenth century vaulted cellars. This beautiful red Burgundy offers distinguished aromas of red fruits and wood on the nose. On the palate, complex flavors of fruit, spice, smoke and toast with excellent structure and round mouthfeel. Pairs well with grilled and roasted red meats and duck or hard cheeses. "A beauty, offering sweet raspberry, strawberry and floral aromas and flavors allied to a medium-bodied frame. Light-footed and detailed, with a lingering finish of mineral-lined fruit." –BS, Wine Spectator (93 Points)
