Faiveley Mercury Framboisiére Rouge 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

This is a jaw-droppingly good Climens that may just turn out to be the best
they have ever made. With 100% Sémillon and, as ever, the epitome of delicacy,
finesse and complexity, it is utterly sensational - possibly even better than
d'Yquem itself. It has amazing depth and richness yet remains wonderfully
vibrant, leaving magical flavours of sweet orange blossom in the mouth. Owner
Bérénice Lurton has produced some fabulous wines from this celebrated Barsac
estate in recent years but her 2007 is truly sublime. Buy as much of this as
you can.

Botrytis-tinged, honey yumminess! Redolent of baked, lightly caramelized apricots drizzled casually with gossamer strands of honey. 2nd label of Barsac's 1er Cru Chateau Climens, a part of the Lurton dynasty. Accompany with tropical fruit cakes and custards or a platter of decadent, soft-ripened cheeses.

Multiple tastings of barrels and two micro-blends with Berenice Lurton at the chateau and each one more breath-taking than the last! An intensely minerally nose with astounding delineation and poise with hints of wild honey, orange-blossom and a litt... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Sauternes Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2007 Climens 750ml
