Faiveley J. Nuits-St.-Georges Clos de la Maréchale 1988

Winemaker's Notes:

The soil of St Julien is ideal for vines, due to its geographic situation and its climate; every element is present to produce wines of exceptional quality and elegance. Châteaux Langoa and Léoville barton have the great privilege of being in the very heart of this appellation.

The 1988 reveals layer upon layer of honeyed pineapple-and orange-scented and -flavored fruit vibrant acidity high levels of botrytis and a fabulously long yet well-focused finish. It is a great wine. Anticipated maturity: 1998-2015. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Extremely polished and complex showing beautiful dried herb grass honey and pine flavors. Has a long finish medium body and just-so sweetness. Drink now through 2000. Wine Spectator.
