Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin les Marchais 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

"A brilliant dark ruby colour. The expressive and complex nose has aromas of red fruits with woody notes. We find these same aromas on the palate which are well enveloped by delicately blended tannins. This Gevrey Chambertin is perfectly balanced and reflects all the elegance of Pinot Noir beautifully." -Winemaker's Notes

A deft touch of wood sets off an elegant aromatic profile that features a classic Gevrey nose of pungent iron-infused earth, underbrush and game along with primarily cool red fruit that merges into concentrated, precise and balanced flavors, all wrap... Vintage: 2003 10/03/2012

Very ripe and quite elegant despite the plumy, slightly port-like quality of the nose yet the flavors are fresh, sweet and rich with striking complexity on the nicely persistent finish.
