Food Pairings for Fairview Darling Chenin Blanc
Fairview is situated on the lower slopes of Mt. Paarl, which is more sheltered from the moderating maritime influence than nearby Stellenbosch. Fairview was planted with vines as early as 1699, when it was known by the name of Bloemkwoolfontein (Cauliflower Mountain). Fortunately, an English owner changed its name to Fairview at the beginning of the 20th century. The property was bought by the grandfather of current owner, Charles Back, in 1937, and was subsequently run by his father, Cyril. Charles has run it for the past 25 years. This Chenin Blanc has a fresh, crisp style with fragrant fruit and lime character on the finish.
