Fabre Montmayou is a winery founded by Hervé Joyeaux Fabre in the 1990s in Lujan de Cuyo, Argentina. Having grown up around the wine business in Bordeaux, France he came to Mendoza, searching for new winemaking possibilities. He purchased a historic Malbec vineyard, planted in 1908, and cultivated wine from the old vines. His visionary ideas have succeeded in creating excellent wines with concentrated, character. From there, other old vine vineyards were purchased to continue this pursuit for wines with unique personality. Fabre Montmayou produces Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Torrontes in young and reserva styles.  Read less

Had at the wine bar Grafitti in New York. Very fruity, lots of oak. Actually, the fruit came off a bit sweet - which surprised me, but it made the wine a little cloying. It was fine, but there was no sense of place or terroir there...
