Fabre Montmayou Gran Reserva Malbec 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

"Hervé Fabre came from a family of wine négociants in Bordeaux. When he arrived in Argentina in the early 1990s, he was surprised to find that nearly every other investor in Mendoza's wine renaissance was buying undeveloped land and planting new vineyards. They were ignoring the old vineyards of head-trained Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon that had been established a hundred years earlier by earlier French immigrants. Hervé quietly bought them up, and today, these ancient vineyards surround his beautiful winery in Vistalba - Lujan de Cuyo, near the town of Mendoza. It’s the old vines that are the secret to the lush, round character of Hervé’s wines; these vines give powerful fruit but remain fresh on the palate, a hallmark of great wines. The 2012 Malbec is a black, deep, purple-fruited knockout! Pair this wine with braised meats or anything off the grill." Winery Notes
