Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Reserve 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

The grapes for Eyrie's Estate wines come mostly from their three "younger" vineyards: Stonehedge, Sisters, and Rolling Green Farm, planted in the 1980's. Each of these vineyards has its own individuality, but we believe the ultimate blends represent a whole better than its parts. Made from their original Pinot Noir vines, now 40 years old. Aged in neutral French oak, this wine is balanced and subtle, with gorgeous Pinot flavors, restrained alcohol and outstanding ageability. Best of the Best: Eyrie 2001 Reserve Pinot Noir - "Superb complex wine for those seeking earth over ripe fruit." - Food & Wine: Wine Guide 2007

With these two tastings, Oregon won its first recognition as the New World home for Pinot noir. Read less
