Exile Barossa 2003

Winemaker's Notes:

Very old vines, some planted in the 19th century form the core of this singlevineyard wine. Using mostly Shiraz, with ancient Mourvèdre and a littleMuscadelle, the 2002 scored 98 points from Robert Parker, an astonishingdébut and an instant collector's item. A year on, Jonathan Maltus hasnot only fine-tuned his wine-making but also coped with challenging vintageconditions so that the 2003 combines elegance with its New World heritage, withits subtle spicy fruit and mix of ripe tannins and vital acidity.
