A bit muted on the nose with subtle but attractive aromas of black fruits, violets, woodsmoke, and a hint of mint and rosemary. Big, round and polished in the mouth, this delivers ripe yet fresh black currant and plum fruit gentle framed with clean, fresh oak. The balance is attractive for a wine of this size, smooth yet firm enough though allowing the fruit to retain attractive transparency. This is a bit simple but it’s also a bit subtle at the same time with a hint of peppery spice emerging on the backend along with some floral character that both add a little detail to the moderately long if slightly hot finish. I could this getting a little better with 6 months to a year in the bottle. 86pts

Offers up pretty intense plum, smoke and cedar notes with subtle hints of powder sugar, backing spice, and anise. Smells a little cherry cola like. A bit on the sweet side with good acidity and minimal, soft tannins adding structure. Lots of cherry and red plum fruit on the mid-palate with a bit of baking spice emerging on the back end. Decent length and while this lacks finesse there is plenty of friendly fruit to enjoy. The alcohol is a touch obvious though. 2008-2010 86pts

Good dark red. Ripe aromas of cassis, plum, graphite and chocolate. Glyceral and a bit sweet (4.3 g/l r.s.), but with enough acidity to maintain its balance. Just a touch roasted and chunky but offers a mouthful of dark fruit flavors and finishes with good mineral spine.

A fragrance of crushed violet adds interest to the jammy blackberry, plum and cherry fruit core of this wine. Hints of licorice root, bramble and peppery spice unfold on the creamy palate, with ripe yet gripping tannins that remain on the finish.

Blackish plum in color. A medium-to-full bodied wine. Displays sweet, plummy notes on nose, with vanilla, chocolate and blackcurrants on palate. Has soft, ripe tannins and a long velvety finish.
