Evans & Tate Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River Redbrook 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

Our flagship Redbrook Cabernet Sauvignon is made from only the finest parcels of fruit from the vintage, creating an elegant style which highlights the varietal character of the most outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River. The 2010 vintage produced optimal ripening conditions with warm, dry sunny days and cool nights creating richness and exceptional flavour intensity. This wine spent extended time on skins before and after fermentation and each batch was pressed into new and 1 year old French oak maturing for up to eighteen months. This wine displays redcurrants, blood plums, black olive and tobacco leaf characters framed by fine supportive tannins. With careful cellaring this wine will reward those that can wait.

Toasted almond and dark chocolate on the nose with bunches of dark fruit - blackberry and black cherry and bramble fruit. In the mouth its more red fruit focused with red currant and raspberry, vanilla and a touch of cranberry with a fair bit of tobacco and leather - good structure and a fine finish of cinnamon and oak.
