Eugen Wehrheim Niersteiner Paterberg Grauer Grauburgunder Spätlese Trocken 2007
This Grauburgunder, otherwise known as Pinot Gris, may have a very overwhelming label packed with way too many unpronounceable German words, but in the mouth, it is simply delicious. Very mineral-driven, with lots of wet stone character, this dry but fully ripe wine is layered with yellow peach, starfruit, and pungent grapefruit notes. Excellent concentration and nice weight on the palate.
A 600+ year old winery situated in the German Rheinhessen region of the Rhine. Family owned and operated. A broad selection of whites, and some reds with many outstanding prize winners. Some of the most versatile, well-balanced whites with lots of character and body.
