The ever candid and informative Gérard Boudot told me that Puligny was hard hit in 2003, noting that there was serious damage from the frost followed by moderate hail and heat losses. The hillside vines were most affected, particularly by the heat as there are less water reserves there. More importantly though was all of the second generation fruit because the frost wiped out up to 80% of the first generation in some parcels.
