Estancia Riesling Monterey 2008
All that I can say is not good, if you are Riesling fan. Overripe Riesling from an area that I would think the opposite. Bitter, astringent notes that make me think of overpressed grapes. BAD, BAD, BAD. I think I'd rather drink Aussie Riesling than this.Add winemaker's notes

Very good domestic Riesling for around $15. Aromas of apple, peach, and white flowers with tiniest whiff of mineral. Flavors are very peachy, with some nice acidity to keep it all in balance. Off-dry, and perfect with Asian takeout.
I cannot believe how awful this Riesling is....I just bought it at my local wine store, because I love Riesling...but it is making my skin break out in hives from probably all the sulfites in it. AWFUL! I am returning the other bottle, since I did purchase two. I am suffering from the reaction to this wine like I have never encountered. My ears are burning, itching, and I feel anxious rather than relaxed. I am never going to buy American Riesling again, but only the German variety.
