Assertively stemmy on the nose with sour fruit underpinned by a nice earth tone and some obvious burnt top notes. Silky and very easy to like with fresh, ripe fruit that is very well-balanced, if a bit simple. This ends up leaving me wanting a bit more but is a very serviceable bottle. 86pts

This wine needs to breath! My husband and I opened the wine, decanted it and started drinking it right away. We were very disappointed with it! It was very acidic and harsh, and almost had a vinegar feel to it, and as a result could only bear to drink half a glass each. However, the next night, I decided to give the wine another try (at this point it had been breathing overnight), and the wine had opened up and was smooth and round (no more vinegar!). The second night the wine had a light body with a nose of raspberries and strawberries and had a velvety smoothness to it. Can be enjoyed alone or with food (after extensive breathing!).

medium bodied with a citris note, not too acidic, with a slightly bold finish. Best Pino Grigio I've tasted so far. Only around $8 which is a bonus too. A must try!

Finally tried a wine that I actually enjoyed! Those smooth berry flavor up front, paired with a crisp finish. Quite drinkable. As micro beer person, I like this!

"Ruby with purple edges. Ripe black cherry and fresh raspberries accented by floral notes and sweet, spicy oak. Bright cherry and dark fruits coupled by rich and velvety tannins with hints of minerals, lead to a lingering finish." -Winery

Juicy and mild, this wine has lasting flavors of ripe cherries and red apple. A simple, pleasing pinot for roast chicken-and -aioli sandwiches.

In 1986 Agustin Huneeus, then of Franciscan Estates, bought the former Paul Mason vineyards near Soledad to establish Estancia Winery. A producer of Monrterey County pinot noir and chardonnay, the brand is now part of Constellation. Pinnacles Ranches is their basic bottling - sourced mostly from vineyards on the eastern side of the Salinas Valley, along with a smattering of fruit from the Santa Lucia Highlands. It offers full-bore Central coast flavors with enough restraint and bright acidity to work with a variety of foods - a wine that sets a standard for good, cheap pinot noir.

Round, with good ripeness to black cherry, cola, spice and herbal notes that linger through a firm finish. Drink now through 2005
