Estancia 'Pinnacles' Chardonnay 2008
Score: N/A Tasting Notes: This Chardonnay has a light straw gold color. It has aromas of fresh pear and crisp apple that are accented by notes of honeydew with a touch of floral on the finish. It has flavors of bright tropical notes and stone fruit that compliment the vibrant nuances of citrus. Soft touches of toasty oak and cream accentuate the lingering, minerally finish. Bottle open for 1.5 hrs before tasting and served at room temperature. Color is a lighter gold than expected in chardonnay, and contains some sediment. Nose contains hints of butter, green apple, pear and maybe some peach aspect. Some acidity in the nose. Palette is very fruit filled with mineral notes and some acidity. The finish lasts for maybe 30 seconds, and it is largely acidic, but also has apple and oak notes. This is a decent wine for its price. I think that some of the bitey aspect would calm down upon chilling.
Great bouquet and finish. Hints of apples, pear and caramel. A very nice chardonney at a great price.
Very clear, pale and fragrant chardonnay with a pear-and-citrus nose, nicely poised between acidic bite and creamy textures. Characteristically 'minerally', but not overmuch. 4-5 second finish. The Estancia paired fairly well with our tilapia dinner. I and my family enjoyed this wine very much!

From the east side of Salinas Valley, this Chard shows great Central Coast Chard character, with crisp, clean acidity brightening the kiwi and lime flavors. Some new oak adds welcome buttered toast and smoky vanilla complexities. Restaurateurs should scoop this up.
Estancia keeps the yields from their Pinnacles vineyard low to ensure concentrated flavors in each grape. This Chardonnay is an example; it's bursting with flavors of pear, fig, brioche and hazelnuts.
Full and rich; pear, passion fruit, and apple with shadings of oak and butterscotch flavor.
Zesty citrus and grapefruit flavors are clean and easy-drinking in a medium-bodied style. Drink now.
Straightforward, clean and fruity, with apple and pear flavors, a soft butterscotch texture and soft scents of vanilla bean. Medium-bodied with refreshing lemon citrus acidity.
Ripe pear, passion fruit, guava and fig, with hints of golden delicious apple, lychee nut and lemon custard. Subtle nuances of oak, a lingering, creamy mouthfeel and a mineral finish. A great value in Chardonnay.
