User Reviews for Estancia 'Pinnacles' Chardonnay
Add your reviewBottle open for 1.5 hrs before tasting and served at room temperature. Color is a lighter gold than expected in chardonnay, and contains some sediment. Nose contains hints of butter, green apple, pear and maybe some peach aspect. Some acidity in the nose. Palette is very fruit filled with mineral notes and some acidity. The finish lasts for maybe 30 seconds, and it is largely acidic, but also has apple and oak notes. This is a decent wine for its price. I think that some of the bitey aspect would calm down upon chilling.
Great bouquet and finish. Hints of apples, pear and caramel. A very nice chardonney at a great price.
Very clear, pale and fragrant chardonnay with a pear-and-citrus nose, nicely poised between acidic bite and creamy textures. Characteristically 'minerally', but not overmuch. 4-5 second finish. The Estancia paired fairly well with our tilapia dinner. I and my family enjoyed this wine very much!
External Reviews for Estancia 'Pinnacles' Chardonnay
High, brisk acidity is the star in this Central Coast Chard. It gives a good kick to the ripe guava, nectarine, mineral and vanilla flavors. Good value, and very versatile with food.
Straightforward, showing fruit cocktail and tangy Meyer lemon flavors, with a bite of juicy ripe peach. The flavors linger nicely on the finish. Drink now.
I tasted this alongside a Chard costing more than twice as much, and it held its own. The fruit, acids, oak. spice and creamy texture come together in an appealingly balanced package. Finishes dry, long and complex, but just a tad thin.
A touch earthy, with pear and spice flavors. Picks up a trace of pineapple, has a spicy oak aftertaste. Drink now through 2001.
One sniff, one sip and you'll know right away why this wine is a runaway customer favorite. Packed with concentrated orange, apricot and tropical fruit flavors and bursting with spice and buttery richness, this is rich, flavorful Chardonnay at its best - the kind of wine that got us started on Chards to begin with.
Ultraripe in style, with a bounty of pear, fig and tropical fruit flavors, this lovely white from California turns smooth and polished, with a pretty dash of toasty oak adding dimension. Not only a good value, it's ready to drink and widely available.
A good choice for oak lovers, this Monterey County chardonnay has the ocean breezes blowing through it. It's robust, as it must be to withstand the winds, but you'll still find luscious melon, juicy pears, and crisp apples that only the California sun can grow. The finish is rich and toasty.
Winemaker's Notes:
Score: N/A Tasting Notes: This Chardonnay has a light straw gold color. It has aromas of fresh pear and crisp apple that are accented by notes of honeydew with a touch of floral on the finish. It has flavors of bright tropical notes and stone fruit that compliment the vibrant nuances of citrus. Soft touches of toasty oak and cream accentuate the lingering, minerally finish.
