Estancia Central Coast Merlot 2008
One of the best in its class, simple but pleasant and very clean & smooth finish. Every time I buy another $12-15 red and I am unsatisfied I wish I bought this one instead.
Bigger than I thought it would be :)
External Reviews for Estancia Central Coast Merlot
Merlot has become an American favorite for a reason. Smooth tannins, full fruit, and luscious juiciness create a wine that can be appreciated by just about everyone.
Modest in scale, but appealing for its black cherry, herb and spice notes. Drink now through 2014.
The nose of this California red is packed with aromas of ripe cherry and plum with subtle hints of mocha. Plum, cherry and raspberry give this wine its distinguished character. A round, soft and full mouthfeel is followed by a long finish with overtones of sweet oak and chocolate.
Balanced with bright fruitiness, opulent tannins and light, toasty oak. Bright cherry and plum aromas with a hint of spice. Dark dense black berry and cherry with light toasty oak. Spicy, fleshy with a supple long finish.
A ripe, juicy style, with black cherry and blackberry fruit thatrsquo;s rich and supple. Mildly tannic. A good value. Drink now through 2006.
Fine balance and good concentration to the black currant, mocha, roasted herb and subtle leather flavors linger through a mildly tannic finish. Drink now through 2005.
