Errazuriz Sauvignon Blanc Estate 2009
The 2008–2009 growing season presented very good conditions for flowering, fruit set, and the development of healthy fruit. The yields at Aconcagua Costa were very close those projected for this vintage. The heat summation in the coldest section of the estate was 1,199 degree-days and 1,322 in the warmest, confirming that this is indeed a cool-climate valley and ideal for producing high quality Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The quality of the Sauvignon Blanc is excellent, with tremendous intensity, a lush palate, and loaded with nerve and freshness. The grapes showed a distinctive typicity, with plenty of freshness and fruit intensity along with a touch of minerals.
Light, golden yellow. A citrus nose similar to a pinot gris but with a lemony bite. Light bodied with a delicate mouthfeel. Begins with an explosion of tropical fruit dominated with grapefruit flavors that transforms into a clean mineral taste with hints of green notes. Very refreshing and wonderfully paired with seafood.

Light yellow. Pungent aromas of peach pit, lime zest and herbs, with a strong undercurrent of white pepper. Racy and pure, offering bright citrus flavors and a deeper orchard and pit fruit quality. The pepper note echoes on the firm, dry finish. I like this winersquo;s Old World restraint.
Bang! One sniff of this wine and you are floating in those distinct, semisharp aromas that are Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. Therersquo;s sea air, nettle and citrus galore, and then flavors of gooseberry, green fruit and grapefruit. Itrsquo;s fresh and forward, with angularity and strong varietal character.
Pale yellow. Vibrant lemon and orange aromas are complemented by suave floral and herbal nuances. Shows sweeter apple and melon character on the palate, with dusty citrus zest and quinine adding cut and grip. Nicely plump and juicy wine with good finishing lift and tangy length.
The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc Aconcagua Costa, from a cooler terroir, offers aromas of fresh herbs, gooseberry, and lemon-lime. More concentrated, with superior depth and length, it is a great value in intensely flavored Sauvignon.
Pale bright yellow. Pungent, spice-accented aromas of white peach and orange are complicated by a hint of white pepper. Gently sweet and creamy on entry, then drier and nervier in the mid-palate, displaying a seamless texture and sappy pit fruit and lime gelato flavors. Finishes with a persistent flavor of peach.
Scents of herbs and fresh-cut grass appear in the forefront, while flavors of tart white fruit deepen and linger in the background. This is juicy and full of vitality, a sauvignon made for ceviche.
