Errazuriz Max Reserva Shiraz Vina Errazuriz-Chile-Aconcagua Valley 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

The Errazuriz Estate was founded in 1870 when Don Maximiano Errazuriz planted his first vineyards at Panquehue in the Aconcagua Valley - 100km North of the capital. Recognising that this valley, with its cool, rainy winters, hot, dry summers and moist Pacific Ocean breezes, was ideal for growing grapes, Don Maximiano sent for the finest clones from France and with tenacity and perseverance transformed this barren land into a world class vineyard.Today, the tradition of quality lives on with Don Maximiano's descendant Eduardo Chadwick. Eduardo is the fifth generation of his family to be involved in the wine business. 2007 Max Reserva Shiraz is sourced from our Don Maximiano Estate located in the Aconcagua Valley, a region with a Mediterranean climate with moderately warm summer days and cooling afternoon breezes. The Shiraz grapes were hand picked into small boxes of no more than 12 kgs (26.5 lbs) to avoid bruising the fruit, and aged in oak barrels for 12 months. The resulting wine is gorgeous violet-ruby-red in colour. The nose offers a blend of fruits that recall blackberries and ripe plum, along with the contribution of the oak that expresses chocolate, incense, andsome roasted aromas. The palate presents plenty of fibre and nerve, along with a very good structure and plenty of juiciness that lends a fresh sensation to this pleasingly persistent wine. This wine is designed for rich dishes so try pairing with rabbit thighs in a tarragon sauce with semolina gnochhi.

Weingut: ErrázurizLand: ChileRegion: AconcaguaRebsorten: 90% Syrah, 10% Cabernet SauvignonAlkoholgehalt: 14,0 Vol. %Säuregehalt: 4,75 g/lRestsüße: 2,25 g/lInhalt: 0,75 lEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16 - 18°CFassreife: in Barriques gereiftLagerfähigkeit: 5 - 7 Jahre ab Jahrgang Rotwein > Chile > Aconcagua Valley
