Ernie Els Red Bordeaux Blend Stellenbosch 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

This has to be the finest vintage of the Proprietors Blend yet! A cool, concentrated ripening season resulted in an elegant yet resolute wine of great demeanor. The nose is finely tuned cassis, a touch of earth, graphite and meat spice. The silky structure is built like a sky-scraper, towering over a full-bodied, deeply textured palate. Cabernet Sauvignon and the other Bordeaux cultivars produce a classic feel, with 21% Shiraz adding a spicy, savoury complexity. The finish is once again extremely fine and elegant. Relish opening in 5 to 10 years to expose its full potential. Cabernet Sauvignon 62%, Shiraz 21%, Merlot 5%, Cabernet Franc 5%, Malbec 5%, Petit Verdot 2%

complex flavours, well integrated with a long finsih. Dark fruit extracts. Wine will last. Plenty of berry fruit on the nose and palate.
