Ermitage les Greffieux Chapoutier 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

97-100 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Last of the Hermitage releases, from a vineyard that lies just underneath le Méal, the 2015 Ermitage Les Greffieux is another huge, almost primordial release that tastes like it had just completed fermentation. Inky black in color, with tons of black olive, melted licorice and unctuous levels of black fruit, it should match the 2006 for its concentration, sweet, building tannin and blockbuster finish. Hide this puppy in the cellar for 7-8 years and enjoy over the following 3-4 decades." 12/16 #228

M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.
