Eric Texier St. Julien En St. Alban Vieille Serine Domaine de Pergaud 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

n 2009, Eric discovered an 8 hectare vineyard (Texier farms 1.3ha.) of 70 year old Syrah vines located on the west bank of the Rhone that had been farmed exclusively by a protestant religious order known as D'Arbistes. There has never been a chemical introduced in this vineyard. Vieilles Serines is the name for an ancient type of Syrah vine that is loosely bunched and olive shaped. This is the first vintage and the wine is more reminiscent of Hermitage than Cotes du Rhone.
