Food Pairings for Eric Morgat Savennieres "l'Enclos"
Superb and not-to-be-missed interpretation of Savennieres (Chenin blanc). An enveloping bouquet of lanolin and lemon curd-infused brioche that meanders through to liquid hay and mineral concentration. Hints of custard and ladyfinger biscuits complete the ever-changing, almost fey, nose. A zesty, yet haltingly creamy, profile that intersperses sturdy acidity with bright, precise elements of fresh marzipan, quince glaze, meringue and pie crust. All of these enticing layers are harmoniously tied together in a tightly furled package that blossoms magnificently in the glass. One of the ultimate expressions of Chenin blanc and an ager, to boot.
