"The 2006 Pinot Noir Estate Selection is a blend of five vineyards.Medium ruby-colored, it offers aromas of strawberry and cherry, softtannins, and an easy-going personality. The flavors are savory but thewine is in need of complexity. Erath Winery is one of Oregonspioneers with its first vintage occurring in 1972. Dick Erath sold thewinery to Ste. Michelle Wine Estates recently but remains the largestgrower for the winery (which owns no vineyards). Current production isat 125,000 cases with the Oregon Pinot Noir bottling accounting foralmost two-thirds of that total."Jay Miller, Wine Advocate # 179, Oct 2008
Delicate blackberry notes on the nose. Smooth entry, with a surprising acidic core. Raspberry, and tart quince flavors on the finish with fig and mint notes persisting.
Earthy, loamy nose. Nice, velvety smooth mouthfeel and lots of rich red and black fruit with hints of spice. Really great depth on this pinot. - Tasted at winery 8/17/10
Quite possibly the worst pinot noir I have ever tasted. Just poured a $40 bottle of wine down the drain.
