Erasmo Cabernet-Merlot Viña la Reserva de Caliboro 2006

External Review by Palm Bay International:

/ A sweet nose of vanilla oak, spice, black and red fruit provide the greeting for this dark ruby, garnet tinged Bordeaux blend. The medium-weight, quite elegant palate of black and red fruit with herbs is nicely balanced with somewhat drying tannins on the finish.

/ Roasted peppers, steeped fruit and leather notes come together in a brooding, intense wine with complexity. 2007-11.

/ Little by little, this Bordeaux blend from Italian ownership is inching toward where it wants to be. The 2005 is the best of the wine's four vintages to date. The bouquet deals a nice blend of cassis, plum, leather and truffle, and the finish is fresh.

Erasmo 2005/ From the dry-farmed vineyards of Maule, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc is extremely austere when first poured. Oxygen reveals its lovely, bright red fruit and its sophisticated texture full of pointedly firm tannins. The long and profound finish calls for braised beef.
