Epicuro Aglianico Beneventano IGT 2010

Member Review by GrantC:

I've had far better aglianico in my lifetime. Granted, we're talking about a $6 Trader Joe's bottle of wine here. I think Aglianico is one of those varietals that doesn't express itself well in the lower price range. Not much of a nose. Starts kind of jammy and cherry-ish, with its only real redeeming quality being a nice little bitter dryness on the back end. I wouldn't go back to this one, personally.

Needs a bit of breathing, but after that has a plumy mildly tannic mouthful. I love it! Only $5.99 here in Georgia.
