Epicuro Aglianico Beneventano 2004
Terre di Epicuro is a private label brand of Italian wines sold at Trader Joes grocery stores. These value-driven wines are produced throughout southern Italy, representing some of the most popular grapes and styles found there including Aglianico, Nero d’Avola, Negroamaro, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Salice Salentino.
Tolerable for the price, but I don't think I would repurchase. A little too sour for my taste. As the back of the bottle suggests, it has spicy berry overtones. A short finish. Ok if you're just looking for a cheap, red generic wine to go with almost anything, that's not outright bad. Heavily mineral, with notes of black pepper, blackberry, and sour plum.
