Eos Zinfandel Port 2008
The 2008 EOS Zin Port has been variable in flavor and quality. One bottle was big on berry character and very rich-- my rate-90 The other bottle was oxidized with more caramel than anything else-- my rate-78. Not sure what is going on here-- maybe some cases got cooked in transport?Add winemaker's notes

I'm not a big fan of port but I bought this for my cousin who loves port. I actually enjoyed this wine and ended up drinking a full glass rather than just a sip. Very sweet, but not overwhelmingly heavy like most ports. A good buy at Grocery Outlet for $7.99.

Wine Tasting NotesIntense, jammy aromas of blueberry and raspberry dominate, enhanced by spicy notes of anise, pepper and mint. The flavor is a fruit explosion of berry and plum and the silky, lingering finish is supremely balanced.Serve with a rich, creamy dessert such as custard pie or as an aperitif with a cheese and nut selection. Enjoyable now and will mellow with proper cellar aging for up to ten years.
