Bottled March 9th 2007. 100% Palomino Fino. Amontillados begin life as finos or manzanillas, but the flor layer is either naturally or intentionally destroyed, so the fino wines become exposed to oxygen while in the solera system. Beautiful tawny brown color which is similar to older tawny ports. Aromatic nose of roasted nuts, dried raisins, a little sweet tobacco. Medium to full bodied, 18.5% abv, good acidity, rich nutty finish with a slight perception of sweetness but finishing completely dry. Not to complex and I would prefer it better if it were a little fresher but a good solid amontillado none the less. 3/5
