Emidio Pepe is the king of producers in Abruzzo. His Montepulciano offers and array of impossibly ripe, dark berries on the nose alongside stony minerality, garrigue-y flavors, and a healthy dose of gaminess. Decant for best results.

Dirty and volatile on the nose with spicy clay, subtle wet dog and soaring fruit notes. In the mouth there continues to be some volatility and mustiness but the fruit wins out on the long succulent cherry finish.

(PO) Adored by connoisseurs and novices alike, this artisanal red wine from central Italy deserves to be enjoyed by all who yearn to taste a rare wine of terroir. This vintage was a standout - freshly macerated red berries on the front palate - red currants, cherries - and violets and game on the finish. In spite of the age, incredibly fresh on the palate with an elegant texture. All hand-harvested, unsulfured, and unfiltered to preserve the goodness of this versatile grape, Montepulciano.
