Embocadero Do 2014

Member Review by Breno Tinoco:

From 100% tempranillo, this wine is robust with good and snooth taninos. Aromas red fruits , spice and a little leather.Combined with red meat, poulet stew . Drink now or until 2015 perhaps.

The 2009 Embocadero spent 14 months in new French oak. Wood smoke, mineral, spice box, incense, and blackberry inform the nose of this dense, plush effort. Give it another 2andndash;3 years of bottle age and drink it from 2014 to 2024.

Ribera del Duero produces some of the best and most long-lived red wines in Spain. This Tempranillo has notes of black fruits raspberry and sherry nicely integrated with flavors of cinnamon spice tobacco and chocolate. It is full-bodied and well structured on the palate with silky and enveloping tannins. A delightful wine to serve with a sausage and chicken gumbo.

This selection from 45-year-old tempranillo vines shows ripe black fruit in a powerful combination with warm chocolate and mocha coffee notes. The tannins are forceful, with a pronounced acidity that cuts the sweetness of the fruit. Deliciously wintry, warm and deep, this is a wine for rabbit stew.
