This 2007 Zinfandel from Napa Valley is very good. Deep ruby color with a tight rim variation. Fruit notes of raspberries, with a hint of vanilla & spice. It has a long finish on the palette with low acidity. This wine is justing starting to peak (2013 - 2017) Best served chilled to 64 degrees, double decanted and served with a medium rare filet of beef.

Immature now, with sweet, jammy berry fruit, currants and hard tannins, and the oak overlay hasn't been integrated yet. But there's a lot going on in this spicy, bold Zin. Give it 3-4 years.
The 2007 Morisoli Zinfandel is always a favorite of the house and this year is no different. The old vines, volcanic soil, Rutherford Bench terroir and field blend always create a truly distinctive Zinfandel. Dark ruby colored, it has inviting aromas of wild berries, mocha, dried herbs and hints of bacon and strawberry preserves. On the palate, flavors of raspberries, blackberries, cola, plum compote and toffee lead to a pleasingly lush texture. This wine shows layers of gorgeous fruit with a deep, underlying complexity that is so characteristic of this vineyard.
Good deep red-ruby. Very ripe aromas of crushed berries and violet lifted by pepper. Suave on entry, then sweet and thick in the middle but energetic, with reticent flavors of crushed berries and wild herbs. This broad, deep but youthfully backward zinfandel finishes with a fine dusting of sweet tannins. Very different from the Howell Mountain bottling but equally interesting.
