Elk Cove Vineyards is one of Oregon's oldest and most respected wine producers. Founded in 1974, by Pat and Joe Campbell, our focus has always been to produce hand crafted, Estate grown wines that can rival the best in the world. Estate Vineyards Estate vineyards now cover over 180 acres on four separate sites in the Northern Willamette Valley. Steep south facing slopes, of Willakenzie and Laurelwood soil types with excellent drainage, provide the perfect environment to grow the world class wine grapes that are the basis for creating Elk Cove wines. Proper site selection and meticulous vine management along with harvesting at very low yields creates the concentration and depth of flavor that are hallmarks of Elk Cove wines. Family Owned and Operated Elk Cove Vineyards proudly remains a family owned and operated winery. Winemaker Adam Godlee Campbell joined forces with his parents in 1995 to produce outstanding Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Growing up among the vines on the Elk Cove Estate has instilled a tremendous respect for the soil in which the grapes were grown, therefore his role as winemaker is one of stewardship over intervention. In the winery Adam employs gravity flow and gentle handling to protect the inherent qualities of the Estate grown fruit. We at Elk Cove hope you enjoy these wines as much as we all enjoyed the creative process in making them. Read less

Nice strawberry notes on the nose along with slight hints of white pepper and baking spice. Darker fruit tones on the palate, with light cola flavor along with strawberry, raspberry and huckleberry as well as some nice spice. Bits of sassafrass on the finish and some slightly bitter minerals. Almost a copper tone. Good acid. Should continue to evolve and improve for a few years yet. 2/8/12

Finally a pinot noir that has given Van Duzer a run for its money {in my opinion}. Pours a beautiful light ruby color, this wine is gorgeous in a glass. Light pepper and cedar on the nose, with a hint of alcohol. The mouthfeel is wonderful, light and acidic, with some earth and as another review stated, a rustic, forest floor kind of vibe. light cranberry notes come through in the finish with a nice little bite from the alcohol. wonderful wine, would definately recommend to pinot lovers. orgeon you have never disappointed me.

I did not find this wine to be anything special. I definitely did not think it should have as high of a rating as it did. Me and my girlfriend both thought this vintage was too quiet and bland. Maybe a couple more years and some of the flavor will be brought to fruition but as for now I will not be buying this wine again.

Planted in 1996, this vineyard is moving into maturity and delivering a deep, juicy blueberry-pie flavor. It’s densely fruity, with baking spice and pie crust accents, along with a sprinkling of cinnamon powder. Absolutely delicious already, it seems best suited for near-term consumption.

Broad and expressive, not heavy but dense, with cherry, black plum and rose petal flavors that soar over refined tannins into the long and harmonious finish. Best from 2015 through 2022.

2009 was a vintage of abundance which may be remembered as one of those rare combinations of excellent quality and quantity, with the wines showing flash.

A stellar follow-up to the 2008 vintage which received 94 points in the Wine Spectator! Winemaker Notes - This vineyard site was purchased in 1996 in partnership between Adam and his wife Carrie, and parents Pat and Joe Campbell. The motivation for planting this vineyard was to emulate the wine quality from sites such as our esteemed Roosevelt vineyard. This site now holds the honor as the largest vineyard holding of ECV totaling 105 acres. Mount Richmond sits at 300-500 feet elevation, lower than the vineyards planted at the winery, which allows for earlier ripening. 2009 was a vintage of abundance which may be remembered as one of those rare combinations of excellent quality and quantity, with the wines showing flash.

Sweet black fruits lightly dusted with oak are found in the aromatics of the 2004 Pinot Noir. A delightful, easygoing effort, it offers loads of red as well as black cherry fruit in its medium-bodied character. Delicate notes of oak spices make their way to the fore in this pretty wine's soft finish. Drink it over the next 4 years.

This is a lovely bottle from a vineyard planted in 1974. Its an almost-perfect mix of flower fruit and stone. It mixes the flavors elegantly into a wine that captures the elegance of the grape along with bright fruit crisp acids and just the right amount of herb. 91 PointsWine Enthusiast.

Medium red color. Wild, musky aromas of dark cherry, singed plum and mint. Fresh and energetic, with lively, nicely delineated cherry and red berry flavors. But this also possesses good weight and velvety texture. Finishes on a note of sweet tobacco.
