Very pale spring green, with fresh apples and alfalfa aromas. It is mouth watering with lemon zest, grapefruit flavors and an undercurrent of just sliced peach that keeps the body balanced between bright citrus and fresh stone fruits. The subtle tang of melon makes the finish both fruity and clean. - WineryAppellation: MendocinoVarietal Blend: 100% Sauvignon BlancProduction: 107 BarrelsWinemaker: Spencer Graham

Winemaker's Tasting Notes:Hay colored and very clear. The wine has a very delicate fragrance of candied lemons and baked Granny Smith apple. The delicate nature carries into the entry. Cotton candy and lemon curd cut through a sweet finish of pomelo rind and white cherry, with ample minerality indicating it will grow more complex with age.Winemaking:Our ExS Block N Sauvignon Blanc debuted with this 2011 vintage. The wine is made in a certified organic, carbon-neutral winery. After the end rows were carefully hand harvested and delivered to thewinery, the fruit was whole cluster pressed. This is a more delicate process that helps minimize malic acid and astrigent tannins. Once pressed, the juice was transferred into stainless steel barrels and allowed to age for eight months. Vintage:The growing season experienced a late start because of an unusually wet and cool spring. Summer temperatures were cool, rarely rising above 90 degrees. Yields in the vineyard were light which resulted in incredible fruit. The longer growing season allowed for great acid retention in the fruit and extended time for flavor development. Vineyards:We have enjoyed a long professional and personal relationship with Norma Gibson, the grower of our Sauvignon Blanc from Mendocino. In honor of this relationship, we have produced a special SauvignonBlanc to honor Norma, the Block N Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit for this wine comes from the end rows of Normas 32-year-old vineyard which sits on Talmadge Bench just east of Ukiah. A portion of thevineyard is dedicated to free-standing, head-pruned vines and the rest if planted in classic vine rows with an overhead trellis system. This vineyard has been farmed organically for the last twelve years. Our back label carries the official CCOF seal which is the guarantee to our customers that the grapes were grown to the exacting standards set forward by the National Organic Program. ** Only 8 in Stock **
