The Elizabeth ROSE Pinot Noir comes from a 450 acre vineyard in Yountville, Napa Valley named Block House. Block House is the largest of our vineyards and is planted to several different grape varietals. All 100% Certified Organic. The vineyard is named for pioneer George C. Younts block house, the first Kentucky style block house west of the Mississippi. Block houses were often constructed for defense in frontier areas.The 2007 Pinot Noir is packed with complex plum, black cherry and wild berry flavors which are all well-distributed and balanced. The berry scents are long and persistent and the wine has well concentrated finish.
