Elio Perrone Rosé Blend Piemonte DOC Bigaro 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

"By the late-90s, Stefano was looking for new challenges. He recognized that the Asti zone possessed many old Barbera vineyards, and he purchased two of them, one 40-years-old and the other an amazing 70-years-old. From both vineyards, Stefano produces Barbera that captures the ethereal freshness for which the Asti zone is noted." -Importer

Absolutely delicious wine we enjoyed at Komi in Washington, DC. Exciting enough to order a case as soon as we got home!

An amazingly delicious semi-sweet Frizzante from Italy.

The 2008 Moscato d'Asti Clarte is intensely mineral in this vintage, with a persistent vein of minerality that frames a core of silky ripe fruit. While not the most exuberant vintage of Clarte, the wine offers tons of elegance and balance. Anticipate... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Moscato Bianco wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2008 Elio Perrone Moscato Clarte 750ml

What's this you ask? A lightly sparkling, lightly sweet red wine from Piedmont made from the red Brachetto grape and Moscato. Not only is this pretty to gaze at, it also has remarkable raspberry and lychee aromas.
