- What's this you ask? A lightly sparkling, lightly sweet red wine from Piedmont made from the red Brachetto grape and Moscato. Not only is this pretty to gaze at, it also has remarkable raspberry and lychee aromas.

- "Mer-Blanc" is a special name chosen for this delightful and delicious blush wine that is made from the Queen of the red grapes, Merlot. After pressing the grapes immediately to leave behind the dark colors and harsh tannins, only the delicate and fruity aromas remain in the wine to be fermented. Fresh, smooth and fragrant, Mer-Blanc is bottled young to capture the essence of fruity white wine, but with the complexity of a ros wine. Enjoy the Queen at her regal best!

- Released: 10.03.08Alcohol: 14.9%This wine is 100% from our Los Alamos estate and is a combination of clones 76, 95, 96 and Hudson. Yields were 3.8 lbs./plant (3.6 tons/acre) and were harvested by hand then gently whole-cluster pressed, cold settled overnight and transferred by gravity to barrel for fermentation in 8% new French (Damy) oak, partial malolactic (15%) and subsequent sur lie aging without any lees disturbance. Tasting Notes: Boasting bright yellow-gold hues, this wine exudes fresh exotic notes of star fruit, pineapple skin, Meyer lemon, monoi oil and dried banana chip. Other read more...pleasing hints of ginger flower, tuberose, quince, pear and tamarind drift in the background. There is a definitive quarry stone and rock salt component weaving through the wine along with suggestions of wild sage, hazelnut, yellow carrot and yellow-cake. The palate has drive and minerality with ample substance. (hide)

- Stefano Perrone has made his sensational Bigaro cuvee since 2001. A translucent ruby in color, it is a blend of Moscato and Brachetto. The Brachetto not only gives the wine its beautiful color, but it shifts the flavors from tropical fruits in the direction of red fruits. The wine is vinified in exactly the same way as Perrone's Moscato and is comparable in its residual sugar level, low alcohol, and creamy bubbles. An Alisal Cellars "best seller"!

- Grenache comes in an array of different styles; from the dusty earthen terrior driven wines from Spain and the Rhone to the big gutsy old vine Grenache from Australia. Our offering is designed to show off the delicate fruit of the Grenache grape and to do so in a fruit forward style with soft tannins and a clean finish. Our Grenache sees limited time in barrel and is bottled before the next vintage is harvested. The 2007 Grenache has a medium ruby color with bright youthful purple edges. The aroma is of strawberries, raspberries and rhubarb with a bit of lavender spice. Nine months in older more neutral read more...oak barrels has kept the focus on the fresh vibrant fruit. There is a hint of hazelnut from the cooperage, but not much. On the palate zesty red fruits dominate and lead to a soft finish of mineral and toasty oak. This is a simple red wine made for early consumption and is perfect for picnic fare. You may find it even more enjoyable a few degrees below cellar temperature.Varietal Composition: 100% GrenacheOak Regime: 67% American Oak, 33% French OakReleased: September 1, 2008165 Cases Produced (hide)
