Elio Altare Nebbiolo Barolo Vigneto Arborina 2004
Tasting Notes :Clerico's 2004 Barolo Pajana is an explosive wine loaded with layers of deeply spiced dark fruit. It is a notably pure, focused version of this wine that is totally compelling for its overall balance. The south-facing Pajana vineyard tends to give a more fruit-driven style of Barolo but the 2004 is a beautifully complete wine. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2024.
External Reviews for Elio Altare Nebbiolo Barolo Vigneto Arborina
WA: ...a surprisingly super-ripe, concentrated and soft-textured wine loaded with sweet fruit. It offers outstanding length and ripe tannins in a very seductive style of Barolo...The 2004 Arborina is on another level entirely.
The Arborina vineyard has perfect south facing exposure to the sun. This in conjunction with its old vines (50 years) makes for a truly winning Barolo. Though Altare is a modernist, his wines show well after time in the cellar. Dense, ripe, with classic Nebbiolo intensity.
