The 2000 Barolo Arborina, expansive and ripe in aroma with much red fruit and licorice, is fleshy, velvety, and full, continuous in its flow and shapely and solid on the close. Drink: 2005-2018. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2000 Elio Altare Barolo Arborina 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

96 points Wine Spectator: This smells like a fruit bowl. Is it Nebbiolo or Pinot Noir from Côte de Nuits? Fabulous. Full-bodied, with soft, refined tannins and a generous palate of ultrarich yet refined fruit. You could drink it now but it will reward those who are patient. From the 25-acre Arborina vineyard in Annunziata. Best after 2009. 550 cases made. (7/31/04)
