Elephant Hill Syrah 2008

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

All fresh and balanced with violets and coconut accents, a nice cracked pepper vein and accent notes of stemmy floral, truffle, herb and oak. This is dry and firm, and almost austere on entry with a deep meatiness to the palate. Weighty but light as well, with transparent savory flavor of meat juices, black truffle, pepper and juniper. Long with gentle blackberry, black cherry fruit. Finishes with great plummy notes and good clarity leading to a spicy finale. Lacks just a touch of intensity but eminently drinkable! 90pts
